The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the schedule of the 4-match Test series against Australia. The MCA Stadium of Pune will host the opening Test on 23 February 2017.
In the cue, the primary delight remains for the HPCA Stadium at Dharamsala as the scenic venue will host its first ever Test match; the fourth Test of the series.
The second Test will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and the third one will be played at Ranchi – that too prepares to host its first ever Test.
Currently, India are playing New Zealand in a 5-match ODI series that is 1-1 at the moment, though they had clean swept the 3-match Test series earlier against the Kiwis.
In 2013, India hosted Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy, in which the Kangaroos were defeated 4-0. However, the Aussies bounced back in 2014 when India toured Australia and suffered a 2-0 defeat in the 4-match Test series.
