Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the 15-men squad for the ODI series against New Zealand, starting from 16th October 2016.
The Indian team has already clinched the three-match Test series against Kiwis having won the first two tests. The third test will is scheduled to be played in Indore from 8th October.
Dhoni and his boys will be eyeing to improve their ODI ranking with a complete show in the 50-over format over the Black Caps, who are placed at the second spot in the ICC ODI team ranking. India is currently ranked fourth in the list.
The five-member selection committee led by MSK Prasad, which has been a subject of criticism since the start, came up with their picks on Thursday. There were no surprise inclusions in the side and no major changes. Suresh Raina has been given another chance to make a comeback in coloured clothing after being dropped against Zimbabwe.
MS Dhoni is back to lead the Men in Blue, while Virat Kohli was named the vice-captain for the ODI series. Leading off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been rested for the five-match series along with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Mohammad Shami.
