FPL Team Spotlight | Gameweek 5 : Manchester United

Our FPL Team Spotlight for Gameweek 5 are the Red Devils. Manchester United have been suffering on the pitch lately with some poor overall performances. It all started at Brighton where Man Utd were beaten 3-2 in a shock defeat at the Amex Stadium in Gameweek 2 and the following week they were dismantled 3-0 by Spurs at Old Trafford. Man Utd showed a bit of character when they took on Burnley away from home as they managed to get the all important 3 points thanks to a Romelu Lukaku brace.

UPCOMING FIXTURES

We expect Manchester United to pick up maximum points from these next four fixtures if they are to keep their hopes alive of a top 4 finish.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) – Forward

Lukaku is arguably in the form of his life for both club & country in 4 gameweeks the Belgian striker has scored 3 goals in the Premier League. The striker was United’s main man last season and Mourinho will be heavily dependent on Lukaku to shine for them again this season.

Paul Pogba (£8.2m) – Midfielder

Fresh from his exploits in Russia with France, Pogba has become a leader for United in the middle of the park. The World Cup winner has been pivotal for United early on in the season having scored twice in the league already. Pogba is on penalty duty for United and is usually sharp from the spot even though the midfielder missed a penalty against Burnley.

PLAYERS  TO AVOID

David De Gea (£5.9m) – Goalkeeper

United have been conceding a lot of goals in the last few matches. 4 games into the season Manchester United have already conceded 7 goals already. Hence picking De Gea won’t be a great idea at least till the time United sort their defence out.

Fred (£5.8m) – Midfielder

The Brazilian midfielder has been absolutely poor for Manchester United in the middle of the park. At times, Fred has been reckless which only goes to show that the midfielder can pick up a yellow card anytime during a game and offers no attacking threat as such.
