Our FPL Player Spotlight shifts to a player from a team yet to open their account in the Premier League – Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal. Priced in double digits, Aubameyang is yet to open his account for this calendar season but fixtures and his form can prove to be a lethal combination for the FPL faithful.
Name – Pierre Emerick Aubameyang
Club – Arsenal
Position – Forward
Price – £11.0m
Next Fixture – West Ham United (H)
ICT Index – 6.1
The Gabonese forward has not enjoyed the best of starts to the 18/19 Premier League season, courtesy Arsenal’s tough opening two fixtures. In games against Chelsea & City, the Gunners did not enjoy a lot of possession, something they’re used to dominating as it fits their game style. Aubameyang had a terrible game against Chelsea as he missed a few big chances which would’ve brought Arsenal back in the game but we believe, the striker will find some form come Gameweek 3.
Arsenal host West Ham at the Emirates as they would be eager to put the opening two defeats behind them & finally kick start their season under new manager Unai Emery. The last time West Ham visited the Emirates they were thrashed 4-1 by the Gunners. The Hammers are also under new management led by Manuel Pellegrini and just like Arsenal they haven’t enjoyed the best of starts to their season.
Emery’s men do not face a significant challenge until Gameweek 11 as they host Liverpool at Home. Arsenal can start picking up points for the first time this season against West Ham with Aubameyang scoring goals for them once again as he enjoyed a good run of form in the pre season and it’s only a matter of time till the striker finds his scoring touch once again.
Aubameyang is a prolific goal scorer who can torment any defence with his pace & lethal finishing. The Arsenal faithful would be hoping that the real Aubameyang turns up for this game against West Ham. We back the Arsenal forward to do well in Gameweek 3.
