FPL 2018/19: Five Wolverhampton Wanderers assets to keep your eye on

The Wolves as they are popularly known are back in the Premier League after winning the EFL Championship 17/18. The club will be playing in the top tier of English football for the first time after being relegated in 2012. The Wolves played 46 matches winning 30 of them as they won 99 points in a successful campaign. We look at the 5 top assets of Wolverhampton Wanderers for the upcoming season of Fantasy Premier League.

  1. Rui Patricio (£4.5m – Goalkeeper)

The veteran goalkeeper signed for Wolves in the summer of 2018 in a sensational swoop for the newly promoted club. Patricio kept 14 clean sheets in 25 appearances for Sporting Lisbon averaging 2.36 saves per game. The Portuguese’s price tag is set at £4.5 million. He is a great budget goalkeeper option for FPL managers worldwide given his experience & recent performances.

  1. Barry Douglas (£5.0m – Midfielder)

The left wing back scored 5 goals for his side last season. He grabbed 14 assists which was a league high in the Championship last season while making 53 key passes. Douglas is also on set piece duty for Wolves. At £5.0 mil, Douglas has been listed as a defender for the 18/19 season. He’s an exciting player for the FPL managers to consider as he is bound to score those extra points with him listed as a defender.

Dear #FPL People on Twitter

I think Diogo Jota is going to have a good season for Wolves. I see Wolves staying up, I am looking at Rui Patricio also for a potential goalkeeper spot. #FPL

  1. Ruben Neves (£5.0m – Midfielder)

Neves is Wolves’ record club transfer signing as well as the league record for £15.8 million from Porto. The defensive midfielder is a deep-lying playmaker who has been lauded for his playing style.  He scored 6 goals for his side while creating 32 key passes. He can be a good 5th midfield option for an FPL manager in the upcoming season.

  1. Diogo Jota (£6.5m – Midfielder)

Jota joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid making his loan move permanent in January 2018 as he scored 17 goals from 42 appearances in the Championship. He averages 2.4 Dribbles per game.

Even though he is listed as a midfielder, he plays as a forward for the Championship winners. He is Wolverhampton’s most potent threat going forward.

  1. Ivan Cavaleiro (£5.5m – Midfielder)

Starting only 31 matches in the Championship last season, Cavaleiro impressed the Wolves faithful by scoring 9 goals along with 12 assists. The winger can be a decent punt pick for any FPL manager.
