SRH vs MI – This article brings to you the preview, team news and top Funtasy picks for the 7th match of IPL 2018 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
The ongoing IPL edition has so far witnessed the sheer domination of the chasing teams and the explosion of debutants on the scene. While Mayank Markande made a promising debut for the Mumbai Indians, SRH unleashed Australian seamer Billy Stanlake effectively in their IPL opener against Rajasthan.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad now come up against the Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on 12 April.
Sunrises Hyderabad Team News
The Sunrisers Hyderabad top order smashed their way to victory in their opening clash against the Rajasthan Royals. However, the experiment of deploying Wriddhiman Saha as an opener alongside Shikhar Dhawan clearly didn’t work.
Although English opener Alex Hales could also be a safe bet for the role, any of the four overseas players Kane Williamson, Shakib Al Hasan, Rashid Khan and Billy Stanlake, who featured against RR, are highly unlikely to be dropped to accommodate the Englishman.
Skipper Williamson wouldn’t want to mend the winning combination in the high voltage game against the Mumbai Indians.
Playing XI (Last Match): Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson (capt.), Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Billy Stanlake, Siddarth Kaul
Mumbai Indians Team News
Skipper Rohit Sharma believes Hardik Pandya will be fit for their second game after he sustained a foot injury against Chennai.
“He’s looking good for now. He twisted his ankle but he came (back on the field) and bowled four overs. We still have three days (for the next match, against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 12). I think he will be fine,” Sharma told reporters.
Mumbai’s batsmen looked in fine touch against the Chennai Super Kings and the franchise were only denied victory on account of Dwayne Bravo’s swashbuckling knock. In the latest update, Aussie seamer Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the tournament, owing to a severe back injury. There shouldn’t be a scope of any alteration in the Mumbai setup besides that.
Playing XI (Last Match): Evin Lewis, Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk) Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande
Top Funtasy Picks
Sunrises Hyderabad: Shikhar Dhawan – The southpaw has been in sublime form in the last 12 months, especially in the shortest format. His 78-run innings against RR is a bright testimony why you should pick him upfront.
Mumbai Indians: Krunal Pandya – The Mumbai all-rounder has been Rohit’s most valuable asset. Apart from being handy with the bat, Krunal has a knack for providing crucial breakthroughs in crunch situations.
Punt Pick: Deepak Hooda – The experienced domestic campaigner Deepak Hooda may be a decent choice to bank on.
