Harry Kane

Hazard? Sanchez? Kane? Salah? Aguero? We have come up with a five-man list of our own to solve your dilemma:

Having now scored in five consecutive matches across all competitions, the Leicester striker is the most in-form as well as in-demand Fox at the moment. The 2015/16 league winners take on relegation-threatened Stoke City who have shown signs of revival under new coach Paul Lambert but still continue to hold the worst-defensive record in the league this season. The last two meetings involving the two clubs at King Power have both resulted in wins for the Foxes, with Vardy scoring once in each of those games. With the Potters having kept just one shutout on their travels all season, it seems a mere formality to see Vardy find the back of the net come Saturday.

A list of FPL captaincy contenders without Salah these days is akin to what Earth would be if there’s no water left on it – lifeless. Like Vardy, the Egyptian is currently on a five-match scoring streak and he could make it six at home against a West Ham side that has the joint third-worst defensive record in the league. Salah scored a brace when the two sides met at London Stadium earlier this season. Considering the Egyptian averages a goal or assist every 64 minutes in Premier League matches played at Anfield this season (11 goals and 5 assists), ignore him at your own peril.

The Englishman has had a very productive month of February so far, having scored once in each of the four games played this month across all competitions. A London derby at Selhurst Park involving the injury-ravaged hosts Crystal Palace awaits the Lillywhites this gameweek.

Contrary to the high standards set by him, Kane has a modest record of 2 goals and 2 assists in his seven league appearances against the Eagles. However, both of those strikes and an assist have come at Selhurst Park only. As Palace struggles with their results and injury situation, the time is perfect for Golden Boot holder to improve on his record against the local rivals.

The Icelandic international produced his best return of the season so far, racking up 12 points (1 goal, 1assist and 2 bonus points) against Crystal Palace last time out. A return of similar of magnitude would be expected from Everton’s record-signing as they travel on the road to play Watford. The Hornets are among one of the three teams to have shipped more goals than the Toffees this term and with the last five matches in this fixture producing 17 goals, a goal fest seems a very realistic outcome. Sigurdsson has astonishingly never previously scored or assist a goal against Watford but that could be set to change in this clash of two of the worst defences in the league.

With 9 goals and an assist coming in his last six league appearances, the Argentine is the hottest property in FPL right now. Aguero’s 30.5% owners would be praying that he comes through the Carabao Cup final without a scratch so that he is fine to feature versus Arsenal once more, albeit this time at the Emirates. The Manchester City star has 7 career goals against the Gunners across all competitions – four of those coming in his last four appearances in this fixture.

There could be apprehension among some managers to not captain him this gameweek owing to the fear he might pick up an injury in the final or possibility of him even start the league encounter from the bench. However, the purple patch Aguero is currently enjoying certainly warrants he will be among the goals. In all, Aguero is undoubtedly worth the gamble despite the fears.
