After a week where three playing defenders were a rarity and it was only thanks to Mo Salah FPL managers were able to secure respectable points, we return back to action. As Gameweek 27 approaches, we take a look at the 3 burning questions which FPL managers should strongly consider before setting up their team.
Arsenal’s new duo make a thunderous start to their club career! Should we jump on to the Arsenal Bandwagon?
Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s Arsenal debut could not have been better, who assisted 3 goals vs Everton. Aubameyang was also involved, scoring a goal with some finesse. Aaron Ramsey scored an unlikely hattrick and he is a bargain at £7.0m if only he could remain fit.
FPL managers might want to wait out for two more gameweeks, during which Arsenal face Tottenham and Manchester City. With not many options to pick from between the £7.0m- £8.0m price bracket, Mkhitaryan remains the pick of the bunch along with the likes of Bernardo Silva and Paul Pogba.
Swansea’s 8-match unbeaten run and the fixtures ahead: worth a punt?
Swansea’s 8-match unbeaten run makes things look better than they are for the Swans. Victories over Liverpool and Arsenal will be cherished for a long time, and the games lying ahead also instil a sense of optimism for the Swansea faithful.
They face Burnley, Brighton, West Ham, Huddersfield and Southampton over the next 5 GWs. However, from a FPL’s managers perspective, there are several Swansea players to get you excited. While Jordan Ayew and Sam Clucas are options up top, Lukasz Fabianski, Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez are cheap options at the back. get on board!
Is there a case for Andreas Christensen?
According to Antonio Conte’s recently concluded Press Conference, Andreas Christensen is in contention to start against West Bromwich Albion on Monday night. Yes, we know he’s been irritating of late, but the worst is probably behind us now. Chelsea have looked atrocious at the back without him, conceding 7 goals in the last 2 against Bournemouth and Watford.
If the Danish centreback is fit, he’s definitely worth keeping. Only Phil Jones in that price range is a viable option. City’s centre backs will be rotated, Van Dijk is yet to keep a clean sheet, Arsenal have a few difficult fixtures and Spurs have been terrible at the back without Alderweireld.
However, with some pretty tough fixtures coming up for Chelsea in both the Premier League and Champions League, one does have a case for finding a replacement too. So tread with caution!
That’s all for this week, may your arrows be green !
