Let’s start with the Herd Purchases.

Herd Purchases:

Jesse Lingard:

Points in the previous fixtures:
GW 18 – West Brom: 10
GW 19 – Leicester: 5
GW 20 – Burnley: 13
GW21 – Southampton: 2
GW22 – Everton: 8

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Stoke City: Easy
Burnley: Medium
Tottenham Hotspur: Tough

Discussion:

Lingard is the Premier League’s form player at the moment. He would be looking to keep his momentum going against a struggling Stoke side who are the next visitors to Old Trafford.

Riyad Mahrez:

Points in the previous fixtures:
GW18 – Crystal Palace: 2
GW19 – Manchester United: 5
GW20 – Watford: 8
GW21 – Liverpool: 5
GW22 – Huddersfield: 14

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Chelsea: Tough
Watford: Easy
Everton: Medium

Discussion:

While Mahrez has been really good so far this season, the upcoming fixture against Chelsea will be a tough one.
It would be best to keep hold of him if you already own him, but hold off purchasing him after GW23 in case you don’t as easier fixtures are on the way.

Harry Kane:

Points in the previous fixtures:

Manchester City: 1
Burnley: 17
Southampton: 17
Swansea: 1
West Ham: 2

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Everton: Medium
Southampton: Easy
Manchester United: Tough

Discussion:

With Kane, it is impossible to tell how he will perform. He may score a hattrick or he may blank. Now that he has completely recovered from his illness it is a huge risk not to have him on the team. Purchasing and keeping Kane in the team seems a matter of course at this point, but be prepared for disappointments some weeks.

Raheem Sterling:

Points in the previous fixtures:

Tottenham: 12
Bournemouth: 13
Newcastle: 11
Crystal Palace: 1
Watford: 9

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Liverpool: Tough
Newcastle: Easy
West Brom: Easy

Discussion:

At this point, Sterling is one of the highest scoring City players in the League and is an absolute must-have. With the fixture schedule easing up a bit, Sterling is more or less assured of a regular start. Buy him purchase and keep him in the team.

Sergio Aguero:

Points in the previous fixtures:

Tottenham: 1
Bournemouth: 16
Newcastle: 2
Crystal Palace: 1
Watford: 6

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Liverpool: Tough
Newcastle: Easy
West Brom: Easy

Discussion:

Though rumours persist, Guardiola has insisted Aguero is ‘essential’ to his plans at City. The transfer of Alexis Sanchez could provide competition for Aguero in the future. While if you have him you should keep him, keep an eye on the Sanchez transfer.

Lost Causes:

Phillipe Coutinho:

Phillipe Coutinho has been transferred to Barcelona from Liverpool in a move that had been hinted at from the Summer. It is essential to transfer him out of your FPL teams immediately.

Jamie Vardy:

Points in the previous fixtures:

Crystal Palace: 2
Manchester United: 8
Watford: 2
Liverpool: 9
Huddersfield: 0

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Chelsea: Tough
Watford: Easy
Everton: Medium

Discussion:

Vardy is expected to return from injury this weekend and play the game against Chelsea. Transferring him out at this point may be a hasty decision to make as Vardy loves a big game.

Mo Salah:

Points in the previous fixtures:

Bournemouth: 8
Arsenal: 10
Swansea: 9
Leicester City: 14
Burnley: 0

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Manchester City: Tough
Swansea: Easy
Huddersfield: Easy

Discussion:

He is expected to return for this weekend’s game as his injury is not a major one. Keep him! He is as essential as it gets!

Alvaro Morata:

Points in the previous fixtures:

Southampton: 1
Everton: 0
Brighton: 6
Stoke City: 2
Arsenal: 2

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Leicester City: Medium
Brighton: Easy
Bournemouth: Easy

Discussion:

Morata seems to have lost his form in recent weeks. The break may have done him some good, though it remains to be seen if he can recover his form. Watch his performance this weekend before making any decisions.

Romelu Lukaku:

Points in the previous fixtures:

West Brom: 8
Leicester: 2
Burnley: 2
Southampton: 1
Everton: 0

Upcoming Fixture Difficulty:

Stoke City: Easy
Burnley: Medium
Tottenham Hotspur: Tough

Discussion:

Although Lukaku is back and fit, he no longer has the form he begun the season with. However, Stoke City at home is definitely not a time to sell him.
