The ATP 2017 season was full of twists and turns with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal sharing the Grand Slam glory between each other, winning 2 Grand Slams a piece along with some other big titles. While some players were bit by the injury bug, the young guns capitalized on the opportunity to reach career best rankings. With the much awaited 2018 tennis season around the corner, we make some ATP 2018 Season Predictions before it starts!
Rafael Nadal to win his 11th Roland Garros Title
The King of Clay as he is rightfully called, it is a herculean task to dislodge the 10 time Roland Garros. Such is the enormity of the task that only 2 men have managed accomplishing this feat (Robin Soderling in 2009 and Novak Djokovic in 2015).
This year too, Nadal was almost untouchable on clay, winning 24 matches on his favourite surface along with just one loss, coming at the hands of Dominic Thiem. The only player who can offer some resistance to Nadal is Novak Djokovic and he too is coming back from injury.
Seems almost impossible for Nadal to lose his Roland Garros till the time he wants to!
Roger Federer to win his 20th Grand Slam Title
In the twilight of his career, the Swiss made this year one of the highlights of his career! Federer might have skipped the clay season, he surely capitalized on the faster surfaces, winning Wimbledon and the Australian Open to further extend his Grand Slam tally to 19 titles.
Could we see another one? Well depending on scheduling, one should not be surprised to seeing him reach 20 titles! Wimbledon seems to be his best bet with his technical abilities being superior to others on the surface.

A possible shuffle in the Top-10
One can surely expect the likes of Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray to make a comeback to the Top-10 but don’t count out the likes of Milos Raonic, Nick Kyrgios and Juan Martin del Potro, who would be gunning to knock off some players from this elite list.
One should not be surprised to see Novak Djokovic end the year in the Top-3 alongside Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
One of Alexander Zverev, Nick Kyrgios or Grigor Dimitrov to win at least one Masters Title
Three rising superstars – Zverev, Kyrgios and Dimitrov showed why they are the future for tennis this year. Big wins over big players and big results here and there saw the three reach heights with the German ending the year at No.4 on the ATP Charts with Dimitrov ending it a spot above Zverev at No.3.
Kyrgios showed splashes of brilliance during 2017 and would be looking forward to making the upcoming season a breakthrough one!
