ICC Champions Trophy: England vs Pakistan – Key Players

The ICC Champions Trophy is coming to its business end with England vs Pakistan being the first semifinal tomorrow. Let’s take a look at the players to watch out for in this encounter.

KEY PLAYERS – ENGLAND Vs PAKISTAN:

BATSMAN – JOE ROOT

Joe RootThe classy right-hand batsman has been in sublime touch in this tournament scoring 212 runs in the 3 matches so far.

Coming in at No.3, he has played a key role in England’s rise as a formidable side in the recent part. He scored an excellent 133 in the very first match of this Champions Trophy.

Root has also been at ease in this tournament and his cool nature will be a great addition to the knockout fixture.

ALL-ROUNDER – BEN STOKES

Ben StokesThe power packed batsman and wicket-taking bowler has been in excellent touch with the bat getting 150 runs in 2 innings.

He has been decent with the ball too picking 1 wicket in each of the 3 matches. In the last match England played against Australia he came in at 35 for 3 and scored a match winning 100.

He would look improve his bowling with the standards he sets for himself but he is good enough to earn the place as the key all-rounder.

BOWLER – HASSAN ALI

Hassan AliThe accurate right arm fast bowler has been a revelation for Pakistan in the tournament picking up 7 wickets in 3 matches. In a team which has an abundance of left-arm pacers this right-armer has been a great variation.

He has consistently banged the ball in at a good length in the absence of swing and has made crucial breakthroughs. Ali’s ball to Kusal Mendis in the last match, cleaning him up is my ball of the tournament.

His bowling will be key in restricting a dangerous English batting lineup.
