Before Roger Federer Wimbledon 2017 happens, we take a look at where the Swiss Maestro plays his warm up events.
Since Miami Masters final, Federer made no appearance on the ATP professional tour. The clay court swing on European soil presented absolutely no interest for Federer who made a firm decision in skipping the entire clay court season, including the French Open.
The Swiss Maestro is expected to make a significant impact during the grass court season. To set things moving, Roger Federer will have two warm-up events before traveling to London.
Mercedes Cup, Stuttgart (June 12-18)
Win-loss Record: 2-1
Best Performance: Semi-finals
An ATP 250 event, this tournament shifted from clay to grass last season. The change sprang out from the necessity of another grass court event.
Federer lost to Dominic Thiem in the Semi-final of his only appearance in Stuttgart.
Gerry Webber Open, Halle (June 19-25)
Win-loss Record: 54-6
Best Performance: Winner (8)
One of Roger Federer’s favourite events of the year – Halle is an event that Federer has won an amazing eight times. He won his last title here in 2015 and lost in the semi-finals last year to Alexander Zverev.
Wimbledon, London (July 3-16)
Win-loss Record: 84-11
Best Performance: Winner (7)
Tied with Pete Sampras for the most number of Wimbledon wins, Federer looks to stand alone on this list as he guns to win his 19th Major.
