Andy Murray continues his rampage in the French Open and will take on the Russian Karen Khachanov in the R16. Murray has certainly bounced back strongly after a series of poor performances and injury concerns.
Murray drubbed his long time arch rival Juan Martin Del Potro in the R32 7-6,7-5,6-0. Murray has seen a dramatic come back to from and is looking cash in, keeping in mind the seemingly invincible Rafael Nadal. Except his initial stutter against Martin Klizan, Murray has tackled his opposition quite brutally and has dominated ever since.
World No. 53 Khachanov has had a fantastic run in the French Open ousting the No. 13 seed Thomas Berdych in the R64, and the big serving John Isner in the R32 by 7-6,6-3,6-7,7-6.
This will be the first meeting between Murray and Khachanov and what should prove to be a cracker of a meeting. Khachanov has emerged as a giant killer in the tournament with two back to back upsets in the form of Berdych and Isner. Murray will be looking to fend off this challenge as quickly and possible. Quick or not, the victory for either, surely won’t be effortless.
