World No.1 Andy Murray would want to extend his victorious run in the French Open, as he plays the Slovakian Martin Klizan in the Second Round. Murray has had a shaky season and would want to showcase consistent tennis against Klizan as he did against Andrey Kuznetsov in the first round.
Murray edged past Kuznetsov in the First Round with a dominant display of tennis. Murray would derive a lot of confidence with that win after what has been a nerve wracking season for the No.1 seed. Murray has had his concerns this season be it illness or form and would like to come back into his stride before the high-stake matches.
Klizan on the other hand has had a decent season as he reached the quarter finals of the Bavarian Open and the Hungarian Open. The World No. 50, would want to make life difficult for the No.1 as he puts a confident foot into the match after seeing a rise in the ATP rankings, a reward for his decent run up to Roland Garros.
Murray was the victor in their solitary previous meeting in the R32 at Vienna. It was a comprehensive victory in the end as Murray won 6-3,6-7,6-0. Murray would want to keep his 100% record intact and would like to send a message to the other title contenders.
