Manchester United have done it!
Their first Europa League Final and their first Europa League Trophy.
Goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan ensured that the 2016-17 UEFA Europa League trophy would be Manchester bound, along with an assured spot in the UEFA Champions League 2017-18.
A match that had another cheeky Mkhitaryan finish and a HUGE deflection in Paul Pogba’s favour, we take a look at some of the best Twitter reactions:
The game was preceded by a two minute silence in memory of the people affected by the tragedy that hit Manchester on Monday. Respect.
Goal: Paul Pogba 18’ Ajax 0-1 Manchester United
Goal: Henrikh Mkhitaryan 48’ Ajax 0-2 Manchester United

Ajax performance summed up in a tweet:
Lots to admire about Ajax but they were both tactically unprepared and seemingly completely overawed by the occasion tonight
Well, did you know?
José Mourinho becomes only the 3rd coach to win a major European trophy with three different clubs. #UELfinal
2 – Paul Pogba has now scored in back to back games for Manchester United after a run of 19 games without a goal. Timely.
Man Utd are the first non-Spanish team to win a major European trophy since Bayern Munich in 2013. Nearly four years ago. 😳
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has won the first major European trophy of his 18-year career. 🏆 Good things come to those who wait. 🙌
We all saw this comparison coming, didn’t we?
Paul Pogba with a goal in a European final whilst N’Golo Kante has not even played a European game. Levels.
Oh, we just forgot to mention this one:
Manchester United’s trophy cabinet needs more space: They’ve now won every possible trophy 🏆💯. https://t.co/BlPBlHuj84
Now you do brother, now you do:

You have a way with words, Paul:
Third trophy in his first season for United. Not that bad, eh?
More silverware for the Mourinho household.
All rivalries aside, take a look at the banner. Football is more than just a sport, isn’t it?
For a season bedridden with injuries, this was more than an ideal finish to the season. Fans couldn’t have expected more, for this victory brought with itself, a missing piece of silverware in the cabinet, and a slot in Europe’s top flight competition next season. A potential gamble that paid off very well, with United emerging out on top in Stockholm, after their domestic season took a turn for the worse.
How will they fare in the Champions League next season?
