The Merseyside club have tracked the Brazilian starlet for over a year now and are close to agreeing to terms with Gremio which will see Liverpool pay over £26 million for the Olympics star’s services.
Ben Gibson wants to play in the Premier League or Championship next season
According to The Mirror, Chelsea and Liverpool target, Ben Gibson wants to continue his playing days with Middlesbrough, despite the club being relegated to the Championship last week.
Steve Agnew was quoted saying “He is one of the group and is determined to stay with it and see Boro back into the Premier League.

According to The Sun, Victor Valdes is said to quit Middlesbrough at the end of the season following their relegation into the Championship last week. At 35 Valdes still looks like he’s got a couple of years of footballing action under his belt and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola made an enquiry about the bringing the keeper to the Etihad last season.
However, now it looks like Valdes could reunite with his former Barcelona boss, as he continues to find his right man between the sticks and having been together before it is better for Pep to put his faith in a ‘known devil rather than an unknown angel.’
Manchester United looking to swap Rooney to lure Everton striker
Jose Mourinho has made Everton striker Romelu Lukaku his top target for the summer and looks to throw in Wayne Rooney as part of the deal, reports the Daily Mail.
Everton are asking £100 million for the league’s top scorer with Chelsea and Manchester United both said to be interested, however United not willing to pay the asking price by sparking a Goodison return for Wayne Rooney.
A move to Everton would mean substantiated pay cut for Rooney who currently earns £250,000-a-week.
