Its Rafael Nadal Vs David Goffin the Madrid Open quarterfinals with two players coming into this match with impressive victories in the previous rounds.
Rafael Nadal, with an impressive performance, totally outclassed Australian Nick Kyrgios, in the Round of 16 of the Madrid Open. Winning the match 6-3, 6-1, the Spaniard delighted the home fans with an emphatic performance easing past the Aussie to set up a quarters clash with the Belgian David Goffin.
The 10th seed David Goffin, who recently showed some good performances and broke his two-match losing streak against Millos Raonic with dominating victory, sets up a tough clash for the Spaniard. Goffin, with a 27-9 match record this season, has managed to to go through to the finals of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament and the Garanti Koza Sofia Open.
He eased past Raonic in a straight sets win making his presence felt to the King Of Clay and could potentially hand him a tough fight.Though, despite all this, all the odds favour the Spainard, with his favourite Clay Court to play on and a home support to as a cherry on top. It would be very interesting to see what unfolds next.
With a frustrating defeat for Goffin in their last meeting at the 2017 Monte Carlo Open, in the semis, where The Spaniard defeated him 6-3,6-1, Goffin would surely be eyeing a revenge on Nadal. And what better place to take revenge than your home?
Nadal, having won the Monte Carlo and the Barcelona Open, he would surely be setting his prying eyes on the title, to enter the upcoming Roland Garros with an excellent winning form.
