cesc fabregas celebrates

A man with the ability to pick out a pass like no other in the league, Cesc Fabregas is on the verge of completing three seasons with leaders Chelsea. Fabregas’ contributions to Chelsea are worth noting.

Not exactly a premier league veteran but the 30-year-old has spent 12 seasons here in English top flight with the last three at Chelsea.  In 87 matches for Chelsea in the premier league, Fabregas has scored 12 goals and assisted in 36 with his most prolific season being the 2014/15 season where he led the assists table with 18. He currently sits in second place in the premier league’s all-time assists table with 104 assists only behind Ryan Giggs. His current form is nothing to be shy of, racking up 11 assists in 26 games.

Fabregas to leave Chelsea?

At 30 years of age, Cesc Fabregas has certainly not shown many signs of ageing. Yes, he is not as fast as he used to be, and he probably wouldn’t be able to run down defences. But what he lacks in physicality, he makes up in his passing. His vision is immaculate, he has the ability to pick out a pass from nothing. It’s a treat to watch him create plays when the ball lands at his feet, holding the ball just long enough until he finds the right pass. He’s created 48 chances this season and has been one of the key players in Chelsea’s impending championship run.

All said and done, there were rumours of him moving out of Chelsea at the end of the season. Has he had enough of the Premier League? He has formed a good bond with manager Antonio Conte and the Italian would try his best to keep him from leaving the club. But will he stay?
