It was a high scoring affair between Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils as Gujarat gave a target of 196 for Delhi to chase. Delhi had a rough start to the chase but soon the young Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer took charge to the Gujarat bowlers and smacked them all around the park as he reached his highest IPL score. However, he failed to reach the 100 figure mark as he was out in the penultimate over of the match.
Shreyas Iyer is a budding talent and one who has been dedicated throughout since he has entered the big arena of Indian cricket. His track record has been phenomenal in recent years which has included consistent performances throughout in the domestic arena. He showed that today also where he played a match winning knock of 96 off just 57 balls which included a whopping 15 fours and 2 sixes. It took Delhi across the line despite their top order collapse. He was awarded the Man of the Match for his match-winning effort.

Had Shreyas Iyer completed his century, he would have become the 3rd youngest centurion in IPL after Pandey and Samson. #GLvsDD
