In a must-win game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, batting first could only manage a below-par total of 167/6. Certainly it was not a score which could threaten to worry the strong KKR batting unit.
On top of that, KKR had raced to 61/1 in the first six overs, thanks to sound hitting from the opening duo of Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. Looking down and out, Kings XI Punjab badly needed something special to get back into the match. It was uncapped Rahul Tewatia who initiated their momentary comeback by getting rid of Knights skipper Gautam Gambhir. Two balls later, Tewatia scalped his second wicket in the form of the dangerous Robin Uthappa. But more than the bowler, it was fielder Axar Patel who deserved the wicket, pulling off a brilliant diving catch in the deep.
