Arsenal ends  Manchester United‘s 25-match unbeaten run in the Premier League with a 2-0 win. Goals from Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck propelled the Gunners to a deserved win.

GRANIT XHAKA 7 – Was having an average game before scoring the opener
KIERAN GIBBS 7 – Caused United some problems down the left side in the first-half but not in the second period
MESUT ÖZIL 6.5 – Saw a lot of the ball but didn’t impact the game much
ALEXIS SANCHEZ 6.5 – A subdued performance by his usual lofty standards
DANNY WELBECK 7.5 – Looked lively and scored the goal which sealed the three points


FRANCIS COQUELIN 5 – Didn’t do much
OLIVIER GIROUD N/A – Came on too late
HECTOR BELLERIN N/A – Came on too late


DAVID DE GEA 6.5 – Made a couple of fine saves but was helpless in saving the two goals
AXEL TUANZEBE 7 – Made a good impression on his debut. Was at fault for Welbeck’s goal due to miscommunication with Smalling
CHRIS SMALLING 6 – Found it hard to deal with his former teammate and culpable for shipping the second
PHIL JONES 6 – Looked a bit shaky initially but grew into confidence as the game progressed
MATTEO DARMIAN 5.5 – Struggled to contain Oxlade-Chamberlain
ANDER HERRERA 6 – The ball took a massive deflection off the Spaniard for Xhaka’s goal but had a decent outing otherwise
MICHAEL CARRICK 6 – Calm on the ball but failed to make a difference with it
JUAN MATA 6.5 – Looked good on his return but lacked the cutting edge
WAYNE ROONEY 5.5 – His first-half miss in a one-on-one with Cech summed up his evening
HENRIKH MKHITARYAN 5.5 – Lacked the final ball
ANTHONY MARTIAL 5.5 – The goalscoring chance in the opening exchanges was his only moment to savour. Lazy display from the Frenchman.
