Team India and every news related to them like whether they are playing the Champions’ Trophy or not and even Team India’s new jersey launch are a big thing to look forward to in World Cricket. Today, Board of Control for Cricket in India CEO Rahul Johri and Oppo Mobile India President Sky Li launched Indian teams new jersey.
Oppo grabbed the jersey right’s of Team India after previous sponsor Star’s term expired in March 2017. The Chinese Electronics company has paid Rs. 1079 Crore for the five-years deal to be the title sponsor. Also, it will be Rs. 4.61 crore for every bilateral match India features in and Rs. 1.56 crore for every match they play in an ICC tournament.

The occasion was rare in terms of the fact that it has happened for the first time in many years that Indian players were not present at the launch of their new sporting gears. It is usually players who reveal the new jerseys but due to the change in leadership at helm, things are happening differently in BCCI now.
The players have also been busy taking part in the lucrative Indian Premier League for their respective teams and that might be one of the reasons for this change.
BCCI CEO Rahul Johri welcomed Oppo to the cricketing family at the event. The new jersey is same like the old one which players sported during ODI series against England except the name of the sponsor has changed from Star to Oppo.

With the participation of Indian team in Champions Trophy still unclear, it will be interesting to see when the players don this new jersey during the match. However, the deal is expected to bring great popularity to Chinese company Oppo in the Indian market.
