The occasion was rare in terms of the fact that it has happened for the first time in many years that Indian players were not present at the launch of their new sporting gears. It is usually players who reveal the new jerseys but due to the change in leadership at helm, things are happening differently in BCCI now.

The players have also been busy taking part in the lucrative Indian Premier League for their respective teams and that might be one of the reasons for this change.

With the participation of Indian team in Champions Trophy still unclear, it will be interesting to see when the players don this new jersey during the match. However, the deal is expected to bring great popularity to Chinese company Oppo in the Indian market.
