Chelsea to hand showstopper new bumper deal
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are to hand the Belgian showstopper, Thibaut Courtois a bumper contract to fend off interest from Real Madrid. Courtois will get an increase on his current £120,000-a-week deal which is to expire in 2019.
The report adds the Belgian has been a long-term target for Real Madrid, but Los Blancos are prioritising a move for Manchester United keeper David de Gea.
Manchester City owners to hand Pep Guardiola a huge transfer kitty
Sheik Mansour will bankroll another massive spending spree in the summer after making it clear he is in full support of Pep Guardiola, reports the Daily Mail. Manchester City spent over £150 million in the summer but even that doesn’t seem enough as their Champions League qualification is in jeopardy and Guardiola is heading into his first trophyless season as a manager.
Manchester City will be looking to add around eight new players to their team, some of their targets include Kyle Walker of Spurs, Jose Gaya of Valencia and Hector Bellerin of Arsenal. Seven players are said to be out of contract in the summer this includes the likes of Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta.
Adam Smith confirms talks with Jermain Defoe
Jermain Defoe looks certain to quit Sunderland after their relegation from the Premier League, and Bournemouth defender Adam Smith wants the England ace to return to the south coast reports the Daily Star.
Smith said, “I did have a word with Jermain after the game, actually, but I can’t go into too much detail!”
“Hopefully, he will come here next season. He is constantly on your shoulder and really annoying to play against.”
“I think he would thrive in our team and, with all our creative players, he would get loads of chances.”
The pair played together with Spurs for five years before they parted their ways in January 2014 with Defoe heading to the MLS with Toronto and Smith joined the Cherries.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be interested in Chelsea ace
Klopp is ready to battle with Manchester United for Chelsea’s midfield ace Cesc Fabregas, reports the Daily Star. The Spanish international has been on and off in Conte’s Chelsea squad this season and could fall further down the pecking order as the manager brings in new players to reshape his squad.
However, Conte has time and time again stressed Fabregas’ importance to his squad, but a place in Klopp’s Liverpool would guarantee him game time and help him discover his former self.
