Chris Morris vs Andre Russell: The Game of Allrounders!

Russell and Morris

Two contemporary allrounders who are known for their hard hitting with the bat and dependability with the ball -Chris Morris and Andre Russell are both the lynchpins of the teams they have played for.

While Morris has played for three IPL franchises, Russell has been part of two with KKR being his long standing team. KKR has surely missed Russell this season as he has been banned from cricket for a year for violating the whereabouts clause under the anti-doping rules by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Here is a statistical comparison of the South African and the Caribbean in Twenty20 cricket, both international as well as domestic leagues.

Batting:

                                                                                   MORRIS                       RUSSELL

79  Innings 191
1079  Runs 3482
 25.09  Average 24.18
   153.04  Strike Rate 164.71
82*  Best 100

Bowling:

130  Innings 216
164  Wickets 209
 21.51  Average 25.66
   7.58  Economy 8.07
4/9  Best 4/11

Clearly, we can see that Chris Morris, albeit a little inexperienced compared to the West Indian, has been the better of the two in T20 cricket. Morris has single handedly taken his current IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils to improbable wins on numerous occasions. He can turn the game upside down within a span of very few deliveries. He has 453 FYS Fantasy Points to his name this season, a perfect manifestation to his abilities!

Though Russell has tasted success in T20 cricket with 2 ICC T20 World Cups and the IPL trophy with KKR, Chris Morris has clearly been the horse to bet on!
