WWE revealed the name of its upcoming July Raw-exclusive pay-per-view – Great Balls of Fire. The name has been derived from the 1957 Jerry Louis song of the same name. Ironically enough, it is very unlikely that the company will use that song as the theme for the pay-per-view.
The Great Balls of Fire
The pay-per-view will reportedly be headlined by Brock Lesnar, who will be defending his Universal title for the first time after defeating Bill Goldberg at Wrestlemania.
With the biggest star of the company making an appearance, the name of the event has received significant criticism from fans and experts alike. It remains to be seen how many buys it gets come July. WWE needs Lesnar’s marketability and household name status more than ever.
With other big-time superstars almost certain to feature at the pay-per-view – including Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Braun Strowman, The Hardys, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor – the event will be a special attraction regardless of the name.
