London is gearing up for the North London Derby night as Tottenham host cross-town nemesis Arsenal. The stakes are high for both the teams and they will look for nothing but three points. Naturally, it will be down to their star men to produce the goods on the big night.
Games like these are where good players can attain the status of legends. First up for the hosts, the stars of the season will look to carry the team to victory.

Harry Kane has been in imperious form over the past three seasons. The English hitman is scoring for fun in the Premier League and has been involved in the most number of goals (21) in this calendar year. Kane produced a moment of magic in the last derby and Arsenal will be wary of the forward this time around. Despite missing a part of the league due to injury, the forward was in the race for the golden boot throughout the season. In 24 league games this season, he has scored an astonishing 20 goals to go along with his 6 assists. Those are some mind-boggling numbers for a 23-year-old.

Tottenham have produced 5 of the last 6 Premier League ‘Young Player of the Year’ award winners but none quite like Dele Alli. The English boy wonder has been in stunning form this season and has turned into a goal scoring midfielder. Spurs have been in terrific form, winning their last 9 games and Alli has had a paramount role to play in the form, having had a hand in 8 goals in the run. His achievements are often overshadowed by the sheer quality he brings to the field. To put things into perspective the midfielder has scored 26; assisted 14 before turning 21 while Ronaldo had 21 goals, assisted 14 at the same stage of his career. The PFA Young Player of the Year is certainly the man to watch out for in the North London Derby.

Sanchez has really lifted this Arsenal side, a natural winner who wears his heart on the sleeve. Described by Thierry Henry as the only player from Arsenal who has the quality to get into the Spurs line-up, the Chile international has been a goal scoring machine for the Gunners. He is linked with a transfer to other big clubs for all the right reasons. After his touchline antics grabbed headlines in the midweek, the former Barcelona star would love to make headlines with a derby-winning performance.

While the Spurs will have to be 100% committed to keeping Sanchez quiet, but they will have to be better than 100% to keep a certain German superstar out of the game. Mesut Ozil has often been unfairly criticised for his contribution to this Arsenal side but he has averaged almost 3 key passes every game this season. He has scored 7 goals and assisted 6 already. Though the German international is not having a breathtaking campaign, he is definitely capable of turning it on the big night. He has been involved in 13 goals in the league this season and he will definitely look to up the number by at least a couple when he takes the field at the White Hart Lane.

The stage is set. After years of domination, Spurs are well on their way to finishing above Arsenal. But can the Gunners play party pooper to Tottenham’s title race. A fascinating sub-plot.
