After missing out on the award last season with Leicester, Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante won the PFA Player of the year award for 2016/17 season. Just like his antics at Leicester last season, Kante has been the catalyst to Chelsea’s successful resurgence this year and has proved to be imperative to Conte’s system. The French midfielder beats his fellow teammate Eden Hazard to the award. Hazard came 2nd in the standings followed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Manchester United who was at 3rd.
It was a deserved award for Kante and though he doesn’t have an attractive number of goals and assists, his work-rate on the pitch rightly deserved some recognition. Twitter was full of praise for 26-year-old!

So great to see N'Golo Kante win Player of the Year. Should have won it last year, this half makes up for it!

Yep. Quite a bargain that.
Just a reminder that Chelsea signed Kante for £32m.. He's now the PFA POTY. If that's not a bargain then I don't know what is.

Kante wasn't given this award. He dispossessed the presenter before they could hand it over. https://t.co/Q5GoE5gLeU
