Rising Pune Supergiant vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Heroes and Zeros

The RPS fans got to witness vintage MS Dhoni as he got his team beyond the finishing line off the very last delivery with a sumptuous boundary! Rising Pune Supergiant defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets to reach the fourth position on the points table.

Here is a look at the players who kept the expectations and the ones who failed to.

Moises Henriques

The Aussie all-rounder came to the crease during the 13th over when SRH were in a comfortable position at 84/2. He played some classic cricketing shots and remained unbeaten on 55 off just 28 balls, going at a strike rate of a little less than 200. He got SRH to 176/3 in 20 overs with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Rahul Tripathi

The young opener for RPS was on fire as today as he struck 59 off 41 deliveries after the early dismissal of his partner Rahane. Tripathi struck 6 fours and 3 sixes to get Pune off to an excellent start while chasing a tricky total.

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni displayed his proficiency in finishing the game once again. At one stage, RPS needed 62 off the last 5 overs at a run rate of more than 12 an over. With a dazzling half-century, he got RPS beyond the finishing line. Dhoni struck 2 fours and a six the penultimate over off Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, the best bowler of the tournament so far. He scored an unbeaten 61 off just 34 deliveries as RPS got home off the very last delivery of the innings with a boundary. MSD was at his very best striking 5 fours and 3 sixes in his carnage of the SRH bowlers!

Ajinkya Rahane

The Indian batsmen hasn’t had a great tournament so far. Today was no different as he was dismissed for just 2 runs after facing 7 deliveries. Rahane needs to improve his performance by leaps and bounds to make sure that he doesn’t lose his spot in the eleven.

Jaydev Unadkat

The tall left-arm seamer replaced Ashok Dinda in the squad but failed to make an impact. He gave away 41 runs in his 4 overs and could scalp just one wicket. Pune are in dire needs of a dependable fast bowler in their side.

Siddarth Kaul

The young fast bowler was handed the final over of the innings with 11 runs to defend. But he was taken for runs and couldn’t take his team to a win. He gave away 45 runs in just 3 overs. Trying to bowl yorkers, Kaul ended up bowling full tosses which the batsmen happily obliged!
