IPL 10: Kings XI Punjab Probable XI to face Gujarat Lions

Kings XI Punjab were beaten by 8 wickets and 4.3 overs to spare by Mumbai Indians in their last match at Indore. With the help of Hashim Amla's century, KXIP put a total of 198 on board but failed to stop the opposition from reaching the target. The level of competition below the top 3 teams in the points table is tight and KXIP would like to make most of it when they face Gujarat Lions on Sunday. On the other hand, GL will be full of confidence after beating Kolkata Knight Riders on their home ground.

Here is the probable XI of KXIP that will be up against Gujarat Lions:

Top Order: Hashim Amla, Manan Vohra and Shaun Marsh

South African opener Hashim Amla showed his class in the last match against Mumbai where he scored 104*. KXIP would be expecting the same kind of performance from him. The absence of Manan Vohra against MI did hurt KXIP's chances especially after his performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous match. We are expecting him to be fit and return to the team. Amla and Vohra would be opening the innings for KXIP while Shaun Marsh will bat at no. 3. The Australian impressed us in the last game and is likely to be retained in the game against GL.

Middle order: Glenn Maxwell, Wriddhiman Saha, Eoin Morgan and Gurkeerat Mann Singh

The captain of KXIP, Glenn Maxwell played a crucial knock of 40 in 18 balls to help KXIP reach 198. His innings boosted the batting of his team and the management would be expecting more of the same. Wriddhiman Saha would be there to assist him and Eoin Morgan is expected to replace Marcus Stoinis to strengthen the batting order. Gurkeerat Mann was included in the side while playing against MI but couldn't do much but anticipated to keep his place.

All-rounder: Axar Patel

Axar Patel has been one of the most consistent all-rounders in the KXIP team for a long time and responsibility increases every time he is on the field.

Spinner: Swapnil Singh

Swapnil Singh went for plenty against MI like most of his fellow bowlers. In 2 overs, he gave away 22 runs and remained wicketless. Considering his lack of experience, KXIP may take a chance to bet on him against GL.

Pacers: Sandeep Sharma & Mohit Sharma

KXIP's pacers were the most criticised after their debacle against Mumbai. Sandeep Sharma and Mohit Sharma both come with a huge amount of domestic experience and need to step up to the mark.
