Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. RCB seem pretty confident after their second win of the season which came against Gujarat Lions on Tuesday. Chris Gayle struck form at the right time after a debacle of 3 successive defeats for the men from Bengaluru.
Playing their match after a gap of almost five days, the Royal Challengers will be pretty relaxed and raring to go
Here is the probable XI that Virat Kohli might play against the former IPL champions.
Top Order: Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers
Virat and Gayle struck half centuries up the order against Gujarat Lions as RCB posted a mammoth 213/2 on the board. AB De Villiers missed out on the match at the last moment and is most likely to take his spot at number 3 and will replace Australian Travis Head.

Middle Order: Kedar Jadhav, Mandeep Singh
After the fall of Kohli and Gayle in quick succession, it was Kedar Jadhav who raised the ante for RCB during the slog overs of the innings against the Lions. He scored an unbeaten 38 off just 16 balls to take the score beyond the 200-run mark. Mandeep Singh didn’t bat against GL, and he will be under the radar of RCB selectors as he hasn’t made much of a mark in the tournament so far.
All-Rounders: Shane Watson, Pawan Negi, Stuart Binny
Watson is in dire need of a good performance, not only from the team’s perspective but also as a player himself. This match might be the last opportunity for him. Pawan Negi has been a little inconsistent. He’s bowled well in some games and bowled very erratically in others. He needs to get the consistency going.
Stuart Binny hasn’t had much to perform in a team loaded with batsmen. He has picked a few important wickets with his slower deliveries for RCB this season, but we expect him to keep his place in the team.

Fast bowlers: Tymal Mills, S Arvind
Mills is most likely to make a comeback to the playing XI after being replaced by Adam Milne for a couple of games. Mills can be a major inclusion in the team as he is capable of hitting the deck hard, a skill that could be useful at the Eden Gardens. S Arvind has also bowled quite well this season. Virat Kohli will depend on him to continue his hot form.
Spinner: Y Chahal
With Pawan Negi as their other spin option, RCB are most likely to play Chahal as the lone full-time spinner. With three wickets that included the wickets of Suresh Raina and Brendon McCullum, Chahal is the most dependable bowler in the lineup for the Challengers.
