IPL 10: Sunrisers Hyderabad v Delhi Daredevils – Heroes and Zeroes

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs to win their third game in this season's IPL. Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan guided the Sunrisers to 191 and they defended it thanks to some brilliant death bowling.

Here we look at the Heroes and Zeroes from the game :

Heroes :

1) Kane Williamson :

In his very first game of the season, the Kiwi looked in sublime touch as he scored a brilliant 89 to propel the Sunrisers to a strong total. Williamson shared a brilliant partnership with Shikhar Dhawan as they took the attack to the Daredevils bowlers after the fall of David Warner. Williamson was drafted into the side to provide SRH a solid presence at the top and he did not disappoint as he toyed with Delhi's bowling.

2) Chris Morris :

This guy just keeps coming up with brilliant performances. Morris was again brilliant for DD, as he took 4 wickets and gave away just 26 runs in his 4 overs. He picked up the important wicket of Yuvraj at a time when he could have unleashed himself. Morris has been instrumental to the Daredevils' chances this season and they would hope for more of the same from him.

3) Shikhar Dhawan :

The Indian southpaw got back into some form as he scored a patient 70. Dhawan took some time to get going but held on as he stitched a valuable partnership with Kane Williamson. Dhawan is an attacking player and can take the game away from the opposition when on song. SRH would like him to carry this form in the next few games as well.

Zeroes :

1) Amit Mishra :

The experienced leg spinner was expected to contain the SRH batsmen, but failed to do so as he was taken to the cleaners by Dhawan and Williamson. Mishra is tasked with leading the spin department of the Daredevils but did not quite do his job tonight. He would like to improve in the next game.

2) David Warner :

The SRH captain scored a brilliant 70 in the last game but could not do much in this game has he got out for a paltry score of 4. Warner has not been in the same form as last year and as a result SRH have been inconsistent in their batting department. Warner would like to be more consistent in the coming games and lead his team from the front.

3) Angelo Mathews :

The Sri Lankan captain is just back from a lengthy layoff and the it showed as was extremely expensive with the ball and couldn't get going with the bat. DD should have sent the in form Morris over Mathews and they could have been on the winning side had that happenned. Mathews is a class player and would surely bounce back from this disappointment.
