It was time for the much-anticipated inclusion of the Kiwi Classic, Kane Williamson, in the SRH playing XI against a bowling heavy Delhi Daredevils. The Kiwi captain took full advantage of the opportunity as he put on a batting masterclass at the Sunrisers' fort, Hyderabad.
Coming in at number 3, with Warner going back to the hut very cheaply, Kane approached his 51-ball 89 run innings in a classic fashion as he settled in before going all-out against the helpless DD bowlers. His explosion carried six hits to the fence and five over it. His 136-run partnership with Dhawan pulled SRH out from their misery after the skipper’s dismissal and provided SRH innings with the ballast of a momentum. It took a stunner from Shreyas Iyer to bring an end to a special innings from the very special player.
Here’s a look at some tweets over his innings.
