Hosts Mumbai Indians made an improbable comeback after losing four wickets in the first three overs in pursuit Royal Challengers Bangalore's total of 142. For the first time this season, both the Mumbai Indians openers failed to score and that played a huge role in the collapse. They showed great skills with the ball, restricting a strong RCB batting lineup to just over a score of 140. McClenaghan was the wrecker-in-chef, with a brace of wickets and gave away just 20 runs in his four-over spell.

Harbhajan Singh was decent with the ball but couldn't effect a dismissal with his bowling. The Pandya brothers have come good in all the matches and will be looking to hit form for the rest of the season. Barring skipper Rohit Sharma, everyone has contributed to the side. The right-hander hasn't had a great comeback and is struggling for runs. Like Pollard in the last match, Sharma will also be eager to prove his critics wrong.

Gujarat Lions opened their account for the season with a commanding win over struggling Pune. Unlike their opponents, their openers fired – Smith and McCullum hitting a hapless bowling attack to all the corners of the ground. Suresh Raina was also among the runs and led his side impressively. The visitors were bolstered by the return of Ravindra Jadeja, but still have qualms over their fragile middle order. The bowling attack which looked clueless in the first two matches, performed well, with Tye picking up the second hat-trick of the season. It'll be a battle of two stalwarts and Mumbai Indians, hold the upper hand, thanks to their ability to handle pressure well.

Top Fantasy Batsman: Brendon McCullum

The Kiwi opener has the ability to turn the match in a matter of few deliveries and he will look to carry over his good form coming into this crunch match.

Top Fantasy Bowler: Mitchell McClenaghan

Though he has been expensive with the ball, he is Rohit Sharma's, go-to man. He has impressed with the new ball and has bowled well at the death. His match-winning spell in the last match helped Mumbai restrict RCB to a low score.

Top Fantasy All-Rounder: Kieron Pollard

The West Indian showed his Calypso power. After being slammed for his poor batting displays, Pollard showed immense application and smacked the RCB bowlers on their home turf. He single-handedly took them to the brink of victory and will be eager to repeat the same.

Top Punt Player: Krunal Pandya

The older of the Pandya brothers – Krunal has been in good form with both bat and ball. He helped script a couple of wins with the bat and has bowled well in periods. Though inconsistent, he has been a talisman for the Mumbai Indians.
