Decoding Pandya Brothers| What makes them the most effective duo in IPL?

Pandya brothers pose

The city of Baroda has provided Indian Cricket with not one, but two sets of brothers. But unlike the Pathan brothers, Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya play for the same IPL team as well. The two young lads have been instrumental in the Mumbai squad and have booked themselves places in the playing XI of almost every game. What makes the two youngsters so special? Let's take a look!

Their ability to hit the ball hard!

Both the brothers have a special hard-hitting capability. It’s not just the heave of the bat, it’s premeditated and planned execution to hit the ball out of the park. While the older brother Krunal struck 37 off just 20 balls in a tricky chase against Sunrisers, Hardik has displayed his strength as he plundered 30 runs against RPS off Ashoke Dinda in the last over of the innings.

Bowling capabilities!

Hardik provides his skipper Rohit Sharma with an option of fast bowling, an advantage as he gets a batsman as well as a fast bowler whilst creating a place in the team for another player. Krunal on the other hand, is a perfect choice to bowl alongside the experienced Harbhajan Singh, forming a formidable left-hand and right-hand spin combination.

The Sibling Chemistry!

Siblings share a special bond. A well-known fact. The same applies here as well. The two lads have grown up playing cricket together at almost all levels. They understand each other’s game and this chemistry enhances their performance and helps their overcome the deficits!

Provide perfect balance to the team!

With the Pandya brothers in the squad, Mumbai Indians can experiment with their decisions on the field. Krunal not only bowls the left-arm orthodox spin, he can bat at any position. He can score a 10-ball 25 in the slog overs of the innings. At the same time, he can bat higher in the order and get a big score like he did against Delhi Daredevils in 2016, where he scored 86 off just 37 balls.

Hardik can open the bowling as well as bowl in the death overs. He has taken wickets in the opening over on numerous occasions and at the same time, he defended 2 runs off 3 balls for India in the 2016 T20 World Cup against Bangladesh!

Fielding skills!

Both the players are live wires on the field and are quick to grab the ball hit towards them. They are good with the catches and are pretty accurate with the throws. Apart from the skills with both and ball, they have saved runs for their team with excellent efforts on the field.
