IPL 2017: Kieron Pollard starts a tweet war against Manjrekar

Kieorn Pollard of Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians’ All-rounder, Keiron Pollard, took to twitter last night after his team’s 4-wicket win over KKR, venting out his anger over the comments made by Sanjay Manjrekar while commentating in the Wankhede Clash between MI and KKR. Pollard didn’t contribute much in the nail-biting win as he scored a run-a-ball 17 but his younger team-mates Nitish Rana and Hardik Pandya took Mumbai over the finishing line with one ball to go.

Pollard’s series of tweets were in relation to the comments made by Manjrekar when the West Indian came out to bat with Mumbai chase already in a dire state.

Manjrekar, while on-air, put some serious question marks over his ability to construct an innings, terming him as ‘barely a six overs player’. He also questioned his ability to adapt to the different situations of the game.

After the Pandya-Rana blitzkrieg sealed the match for MI, Pollard responded directly to Manjrekar – terming his remarks as ‘a Verbal Diarrhea’. Pollard said that the reason behind Manjrekar’s blabbering was that he gets paid to do it and he feels positive about doing so.

The remarks about the West Indian All-rounder didn’t go too well with the former West Indian players as Tino Best joined his mate’s attack on Manjrekar. Best, who is also having a commentary stint in English Domestic Cricket, questioned the authority of Manjrekar to make any remarks about his fellow countrymate’s abilities.

He even dragged Kevin Pietersen in the line of fire by asking him what’s the reason behind the indifferent treatment metted out to the West-Indians by all. It is to be noted that KP is also on a commentary stint in this year’s IPL as he pulled out of playing the tenth season of the mega entertainer.
