Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed a feeble Gujarat Lions by 9 wickets and registered their second victory of the IPL. It was a thrilling batting performance by David Warner and Moises Henriques, both of whom scored half centuries in the winning cause.
Let us take a look at some of the performers and non-performers from the game:-
Rashid Khan (SRH)
The 18 year old leggie from Afghanistan was a surprise pick in this year's auction when he was fetched for 4 crores by the Sunrisers but he seemed to be worth every penny with his googlies which proved to be too enigmatic for the Gujarat batsmen. He picked 3 wickets in his first 3 overs sending back McCullum, Finch and Raina. He finished with figures of 4-0-19-3 which proved crucial for Sunrisers Hyderabad to tighten their grip on the Gujarat Lions batsmen.

David Warner (SRH)
The Sunriser's skipper led from the front as he made his intentions clear right from the beginning of the Hyderabad innings as he smashed Raina for two sixes in the third over of the innings which yielded 21 runs. The Aussie pocket Dynamo continued to dismantle the Lions' bowling attack which lacked intent. Warner soon reached his half century, batting at a strike rate of above 150. He finished with the score of 76* off just 45 balls including 6 fours and 4sixes. He also reached the milestone of 7000 T20 runs and became the 4th batsman overall and 2nd Aussie to reach the milestone.

Moises Henriques (SRH)
Henriques beautifully complemented Warner on the crease and stitched a 108 run partnership with the skipper to get Sunrisers across the line. His innings of 52* off 39 balls included 6 fours was enough to support Warner who was already hitting the Lions' bowlers out of the park. He registered his second Half century of the league in the process.
First time Moises Henriques has scored 50s in successive innings in his T20 career of 151 matches – 52 v RCB and 52* v GL. #SRHvGL

Suresh Raina (GL)
The Gujarat Lions skipper, who was impressive in their last game against KKR where he scored 68, failed to score big against the Sunrisers as he was out cheaply for 5 off Rashid Khan. He failed to read a googly and was out plumb leg before wicket. His wicket exposed the middle order of Gujarat Lions which offered some resistance for some time but then gave up on a mere score of 135.
Brendon McCullum (GL)
The hard hitting Kiwi batsman failed to score in this match as he too was scalped by Rashid Khan leg before wicket off a googly which he failed to read. He scored 5 runs off 10 balls as Gujarat Lions were thrashed by the Sunrisers due to the failure of their batting line up. He played a quick fire innings of 35 in his last match against Knight Riders. He would have to start performing soon as his teams's success rely greatly on his batting and hitting capabilities. His track record justifies his ability to take the game away in a moment.

The Aussie swashbuckling hitter too failed to deliver today as he too was hunted by Rashid Khan leg before wicket. He made 3 runs off 5 balls as Gujarat Lions' top order collapsed badly against Sunrisers. He smashed two sixes in a short cameo at the crease in his last game but will have to get into the groove quickly as Gujarat Lions are now at the bottom of the table with a NRR of -2.731.
The Lions thinktank will have to come up with a new strategy soon as their bowling attack lacks the required weaponry to fire up the opposition sides.
