The Vikings vs FC Blue Steel
The Vikings and FC Blue Steel locked horns to begin Matchday 12. Both teams were coming into the game on the back of contrasting forms, with Vikings looking a far more settled outfit considering their recent results.
Vikings enjoyed the better start and were having good exchanges in the opening minutes. They took the lead as early as in the 9th-minute courtesy Aditya Khari who has been in the form of his life.
But Blue Steel upped their gear right after conceding the goal. They increased their tempo and created pressure around the Vikings’ box. Charanbir came close to drawing his side level but his half volley smacked the bar in the 14th minute. Harsh Sen was making good runs down the right but his efforts were vain.
Soon, it was The Vikings who started controlling the game. They were pressing high up the pitch, denying Blue Steel any amount of ball possession. At the back their trio in Aakash, Krishna and Pushkar was proving too much to break for Blue Steel. Towards the final stages of the first half, there was not much involvement from either side in front of goal.

Blue Steel started the second half as the better team with Charanbir, Harsh and Ashish finally producing their ‘A’ game. Skipper Shivam was working very hard for his team by contributing offensively as well as defensively.
On the other end of the pitch, forward Aditya Khari was running back and forth to steal the ball and develop the attack for the Vikings. Shad had a brilliant opportunity to double their lead in the 49th minute when he received Khari’s long pass and was clear on goal but substitute Pandotra came to the rescue for Blue Steel.
Eventually, The Vikings were able to seal their win when substitute Deepraj’s blocked shot fell to Khari who confidently volleyed it home to give Vikings their third win on the bounce. The Vikings continued their sumptuous run of form while Blue Steel’s dreadful run prevails.
