Middlesbrough vs Manchester City Ratings: Silva steals the show for the Citizens

Manchester City marched into the semifinal of the FA Cup after they defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 at the Riverside on Saturday. City dominated possession for large spells and were much better than their opponents who have been struggling off late. David Silva scored in the 3rd minute of the match, while Sergio Aguero continued his good form in front of goal when he scored in the latter stages of the game. Here is how the City players rated:

1) Claudio Bravo: 6

Had one nervy moment in the game and still fails to convince his doubters. Guardiola would surely look to sign a reliable goalkeeper come the summer transfer window.

2) Pablo Zabaleta: 8

Made one brilliant goal line clearance and also provided an assist for the goal with a sublime cross. Has his best days behind him though.

3) John Stones: 7

Had a few nervy moments but came out unscathed. Made a few important tackles and did his reputation no harm.

4) Nicolas Otamendi: 7

Solid in defence, the Argentinian has shown signs of improvement and this is the kind of performance City fans have been looking for all season.

5) Gael Clichy: 6

Struggled against Traore, but did the basics right and came out unscathed.

6) Yaya Toure: 8

Has been brilliant ever since Guardiola reinstalled him in the team. Ran the show yet again and started the move for the first goal. Remains a class act.

7) Raheem Sterling: 7

Still struggles with his finishing, but a constant menace for defenders with his pace and trickery. Could become world class under Pep.

8) Kevin De Bruyne: 7

Class act, runs the show for City, could have had an assist. Is having a wonderful season.

9) David Silva: 9

What a player this man is. Exerted his influence throughout the game and scored a good volleyed goal.

10) Leroy Sane: 7

Provided the assist for Aguero and made a few darting runs, should work on his finishing like Sterling. Still raw though.

11) Sergio Aguero: 9

Has benefited from Jesus' injury. Has been brilliant in front of goal and still remains world class.
