Wajahatullah Wasti, a name that only a few ardent cricket fans remember, was a right-handed Pakistani batsman who got to play only six games in the longest format for his country. However, his performance in the second test of his career gave him an entry into one of the most elite lists of Pakistani Cricket.
On this very day, in the year 1999, Wajahatullah became just the third Pakistani batsmen after Hanif Mohammed and Javed Miandad to score centuries in both the innings of a test match. He scored 133 in the first innings and an unbeaten 121 in the second innings against Sri Lanka at the historic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Till today, a total of only nine batsmen have been able to achieve this feat so far. Let's have a look at the other players to do so.
|Player||1st Innings||2nd Innings||Against|
|Javed Miandad||104||103*||New Zealand|
|Wajahatullah Wasti||133||121*||Sri Lanka|
|Mohammed Yusuf||102||124||West Indies|
