Indian Football might not be that entertaining on the pitch but the same can’t be said about what happens behind its curtains. It often throws up stories which are unbelievable at best and disheartening at worst – like the curious situation with V Soundararajan who currently finds himself managing two sides at the same time, one of which compete in the same league as the other.
Yes, you are thinking right. How can he manage two sides which have to play each other?
Apparently, the Chennai football association has no such incertitude. They believe Soundararajan can manage Chennai City FC in the I-League, and when he is not doing that, he can come coach the Southern Railways team.
But what happens when the two face each other in the Senior Division league? They have a simple solution for that as well — Soundararajan will be in the Chennai City FC dugout while his assistant Anto Joseph will helm the other side. Isn’t that what we call ‘conflict of interest’?
Maybe people in Indian football are beyond such fallibilities!
