Kedar Jadhav scores the fourth fastest century in first class cricket

Kedhar Jadhav was instrumental in spearheading India's 2-1 ODI series win against England. The little man carried his rich and explosive form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the domestic 50 over tournament where he scored a blistering 57-ball century for Maharashtra against Delhi in Cuttack.

This quick fire innings was the 4th fastest List A century by an Indian batsman. Jadhav recently hit a 48-ball 71 with 5 fours and 5 sixes against Kerala a couple of days ago.

After Delhi elected to bowl first, the Maharashtra captain came out to bat with his side 2 down for 79 in the 18th over. He started to hit the bowlers around the park as soon as he arrived at the crease as he brought up his fifty in just 23 balls.

He scored 75 runs out of the 113 he scored against the two spinners and got those in just 32 balls as Pawan Negi's figures read 8-0-91-1.

The fastest List A century by an Indian was hit by Yusuf Pathan which he recorded in 2010 in Ahmedabad off just 40 balls against Maharashtra. Yusuf’s century was, in fact, the 4th fastest List A century in the world. Virat Kohli’s 52-ball century vs Australia in 2013 is not only the fastest ODI century by an Indian but also the 2nd fastest List A century by an India batsman.

The legend Sachin Tendulkar took just 54 balls to hit a century for Wills’ XI in the quarterfinal of Wills Trophy against Hyderabad which is the 3rd fastest List century by an Indian. Tendulkar held the record for the fastest List A century by an Indian for 15 years before Yusuf broke it with a special knock and even Kohli surpassing the great man's feat eventually.

Kedar Jadhav's century is also the 2nd fastest in the Vijay Hazare Trophy history as his hundred stands only behind Yusuf’s 40-ball knock.
