Vajra move to the top despite drawing; BHC, Alliance & Gunners all pick up 3 pts

Nexus FC vs Young Boys of Chanakyapuri (BHC)

Matchday 8 kicked off with BHC and Nexus FC going against each other. Both the teams were coming in after a fairly successful Matchday 7 – BHC thrashed Mayur Vihar 3-0 while Nexus held leaders Nightswatch to a 1-1 draw.

It was a bright start from both sides but BHC were looking much better and sharp on the ball. A golden chance to take an early lead was squandered away by Rishabh when he missed an absolute sitter in front of goal. But that rued chance was just a start of numerous opportunities to come.

BHC were all over Nexus and due to last week’s win over Mayur Vihar, one could see that the team was high on confidence. After numerous missed opportunities in the first 10 minutes, BHC finally took the lead when Augustine’s long shot was saved by Nexus’ GK Pradhi, but Pierre was in the right place at the right time as he struck home 1-0 on the rebound in the 14th minute.

This was just the beginning, Sam doubled BHC’s lead in the 18th minute and Augustine got his name on the scoresheet just before the half in the 27th minute to make it 3-0.

Halftime: BHC 3-0 Nexus FC

At the end of the first half, it was clear that Nexus were not going to replicate their last week's performance against Nightswatch one. They lacked any sort of desire to get anything out of this game.

But more credit should be given to BHC’s ruthlessness. After the 45th minute mark, BHC went on lethal mode as Pierre completed his hat-trick by making it 4-0 in the 45th and 5-0 in the 46th minute. Their brilliant performance was summed up by a beautifully worked goal as Stan and Pierre’s exquisite exchange was wonderfully finished by Sam Darling in the 48th minute. A 3-minute nightmare for Nexus FC which could have been worse had it not been for their GK Pradhi who pulled off some stunning saves.

BHC weren’t done yet. Pierre and Sam both missed absolute sitters before Augustine finally made it 7-0 in the 58th minute. Sam Darling brought an end to a dazzling day for BHC in sumptuous fashion as he completed his hat-trick in the last minute and made it 8-0 for BHC.

Fulltime: BHC 8-0 Nexus FC
