As expected, Ben Stokes made the headlines in the initial stages of the IPL 10 auctions after being sold to Rising Pune Supergiants for a whopping INR 14.5 crore.
The battle to steal Stokes started with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils bidding for the English all-rounder. While Mumbai and Bangalore also showed their interests in the star player, it was Pune who scooped Stokes with a large bid right at the end.
While Pune’s decision to shelve out such a huge amount on a player who will not be available for the full tournament left many baffled,
Twitter had a field day thanks to Sanjiv Goenka’s franchisee.
A look at some of the tweets regarding Pune’s latest buy-Ben Stokes.
