Controversial former Indian pacer S Sreesanth was accused of match fixing during IPL in 2013 but was later cleared of all charges by the court. The BCCI, however, imposed a lifetime ban on the Kerala seamer. Sreesanth is now getting ready to defy the ban and play a first division club game for a Kerala-based club.
This is happening as Sreesanth claims to have never received a written communication about his ban from BCCI. BCCI, who refused to give Sreesanth an NOC to play in Scotland, haven’t given a statement regarding the issue yet.
Here is a look at the few memorable moments for Sreesanth during his active cricketing career.
An impromptu dance after a six vs South Africa!
India registered their first ever test win on South African soil in the Johannesburg test in 2006. Sreesanth was the most crucial player for India as he grabbed 8 wickets in the match with his fiery pace and deadly bounce. In the first South African innings, Sreesanth grabbed 5/40 as the home team were dismissed for a paltry 84.
However, the match will be remembered more for the Sreesanth’s dance on the pitch. Pacer Andre Nel and Sreesanth had an exchange of words and off the very next ball, the Indian hit Nel for a massive six and celebrated it with a dance on the pitch!
